Lab Overview
The GCC Makerspace is a newly developed lab space, funded by the GAUSS grant and the CCC Maker Initiative, to serve the Glendale Community College community. The lab is outfitted with a wide array of cutting edge tools and equipment. Facilities and equipment are maintained through grant and commercial funding.

Some of the tools and equipment that are available for use are:

ground vehicle test space

dual presentation monitors (2 interactive touch screen)

powerful design workstations capable of executing CAD/CAM/FEA and electronic design/analysis

industrial grade Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Polyjet 3D printers, standard hobby 3D printers

3D printing with matrials such as: Nylon, ABS, PLA, Ninjaflex, HIPS, and more

wide plotter

vinyl cutters

We are located just down the hall from Glendale Community College's state of the art machine and welding shops and we work together when necessary.

The Glendale Community College Makerspace strives to develop an environment which fosters interpersonal connections between students, faculty, and the community, while helping to develop and support interest in technology and engineering.

Lab Access and Scheduling
The Makerspace is meant to be used by students and community members to work on projects and also, to simply serve as a space where people can exchange ideas to further develop their career interests.
Open lab hours are held to support students outside of class time.
Makerspace access is granted by checking in using a student identification or if a student identification is not available, the user may talk to a Makerspace employee and sign in using a physical form.
