Rovers "Life of The Party" & "Sparta"

A rugged mobility platform with the ability to drive via remote control with option to add features (robotic arm). Our goal was to be able to be able to add features as necessary. Our design allows us the freedom to continue adding features in the future. We achieved this through the use of aluminum components, various mechanical fasteners, four electric motors, and pneumatic wheel assemblies. We were able to build a successful mobility platform.

 Objective
 Project evolution

    The rover project started 2015 by team Bravo. They set an objective and started by designing "The Life of The Party". By June 2016 The Life Of The Party was functioning perfectly as a rover, remote controlled by a joy stick.

    In 2016 team Charlie decided to design another rover which would have been the upgraded version of The life of The Party, called "Sparta" which would have been different from Life of The Party by it's chassis and suspension. By 2017 Charlie came up with the design of Sparta and manufactured it's parts, they also designed and manufactured a bumper to secure The Life of The Party.

    In 2017-2018 team Delta has been working on the improvement and manufacturing Life of The Party and Sparta. Delta consists of 3 teams;

    Motor-controller team, who have upgraded the program in Life of The Party by making it more efficient and multifunctional since     the program will also be able to control Armando (the robotic             arm), and they have been working on a web interface as well (plus     the joystick) that will be able to control both the rover and the           arm. They also improved the program by adding bumper switches to sense and react to the physical obstacles around.

    Bumper team, who has designed a new and improved bumper   system for the rover.

    Mechanical team, who designed a new and improved chassis and suspension system for Sparta.

    Power distribution unit, who have been designing a new and improved system for Sparta.
